UK: Dalby Offshore has been named the preferred bidder to develop an operations and maintenance base in Whitby, north-east England.

Dalby Offshore hopes to develop an O&M base in Whitby

Dalby Offshore plans to develop the Yorkshire offshore renewable energy operations and maintenance centre in Whitby – a management base to service offshore wind projects in the north North Sea.

The O&M centre will be located at Endeavour Wharf in Whitby to provide crew transfer and management operations.

Dalby Offshore managing director Stuart McNiven said the base could become the company's home port.

The project could service the Dogger Bank and Hornsea offshore zones, which together could total 8GW in capacity.

In July, Dalby opened a new office in nearby Scarborough.

The Whitby Harbour board and local Scarborough borough council made the announcement following a competitive tender process this summer.
