The German designer said the integrated design of the SCD Nezzy floating platform could save between 40% and 45% compared to a more traditional jacket structure in 40-metre water depths.
Aerodyn's design also removes the need for installation vessels, and cuts the cost of materials used.
"At the moment the greatest problem is offshore installation and other costs so we are focused on this point to reduce the cost for the foundation itself and also for erection," said Siegfriedsen.
Aerodyn is showcasing the design at the WindEnergy Hamburg event taking place in Germany (23-26 September).
Speaking about Aerodyn's 8MW two-bladed turbine, Siegfriedsen said the event was a good opportunity to meet partners to help manufacture the machine.
"We have nearly finalised our complete detailed design for the turbine. We are now here to hopefully find someone with whom we can realise it," he said.
