CEO and president of GE Greater China Mark Hutchinson has left his role in the Far East, where he led the division since 2011. He will move to Paris, France, to oversee the integration of the two energy companies.
As part of his role in China, Hutchinson was responsible for the energy division in the region as well as aviation and healthcare.
Hutchison has worked with the Chinese government on its five-year plan for wind power.
In his time as head of capital markets at GE he organised the financing of "energy-related construction projects in China and Indonesia", according to his company biography.
Before heading up GE China, Hutchinson was president of GE Capital Real Estate in Europe and Asia. He also previously worked for Barclays Merchant Bank in Hong Kong.
American conglomerate GE successfully bid for Alstom's power business at the end of June. The French manufacturer accepted the offer, which includes a 50:50 joint venture in Alstom's offshore wind business. GE will also fully take over the onshore wind division.
