The project has been developed by Partnerships for Renewables in conjunction with the Caerphilly local authority.

The site is located on the old Oakdale coal mine, which has now been redeveloped into a business park.

Oakdale is using Senvion's (formally Repower) MM100 turbine — the first project in Europe to do so.

Partnerships for Renewables is also donating £10,000 (EUR 12,337) a year to the local community for social, economic and environmental projects.
