Nordex will deliver its Generation Delta N100/3300 turbines to the site and begin installation this autumn. It will be the first time the turbines will be used in the Netherlands.
The 62.7MW project is due to be connected to the grid by March 2015, and the turbines will be covered by a 15-year service agreement from Nordex.
Delfzijl-Noord is located near the coastal town of Delfzijl, an area with characteristically high winds. The German manufacturer's N100/3300 model has been designed for class 1A sites.
In February, Nordex was handed the contract by the Dutch utility to supply 20 of the high-wind turbines to the 66MW Moy project in Scotland. This was the first contract for the turbines to be used in the UK.
