Maersk reveals new offshore helicopter courses

UK: Maersk training has launched two new course in Scotland aimed at those working in the offshore wind sector.

The training covers emergency helicopter response

The helideck emergency response team member training and the six-day combined helideck and team member training courses will begin this month.

The courses, which are accredited by oil and gas training academy OPITO, will be run at the Maersk's training centre in Aberdeen, north-east Scotland.

Maersk has built a helicopter simulator and helideck at the centre for use in the training.

The helideck emergency response team member training is taught and assessed by operational fire-fighters and is delivered across four days.

The combined course covers procedures associated with the helideck and helicopter landing, while also giving students the opportunity to gain a more general understanding of emergency response procedures on an offshore installation.
