Areva's Julian Brown to chair RenewableUK

UK: Areva's UK wind director Julian Brown has been appointed chairman of the country's wind industry association, RenewableUK.

Julian Brown has been appointed chair of RenewableUK

He was elected to succeed incumbent Andrew Jamieson, CEO of the government-sponsored body the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC).

Brown was elected as a member of the RenewableUK board in June 2012 and has chaired Norstec, an industry partnership promoting opportunities for offshore renewables, since June 2013.

Jamieson has served as chairman since 2010, and has stepped down due to "increasing demands" in his role as CEO of OREC.
