Acciona said it will use the blades on turbines to be installed in China, as well as exporting them worldwide, largely to North America.
TPI has been operating in China since 2008 and is expanding with the addition of the Dafeng facility. It also has a factory in Taicang, Jiangsu province, which will also produce blades for the Spanish manufacturer and developer.
Acciona launched the AW125/3000 last year, and the turbine, along with new AW116/3000 variants, received certification in November.
