Gamesa and EDPR sign 450MW US framework agreement

UNITED STATES: Gamesa has signed a framework agreement with EDP Renovaveis for the supply of up to 450MW over the next three years.

The G114-2MW turbine is designed for low-wind sites

The framework agreement covers developments in the US up to the end of 2016 using the Spanish manufacturer's G114-2MW turbine.

Up to 225 of the turbines will be supplied, making the deal potentially the biggest for this model to date.

Gamesa and EDPR have previously collaborated on the 400MW Lone Star wind farm  in Texas. Gamesa has delivered wind turbines totaling more than 1.5GW to EDPR worldwide.

The G114-2MW turbine is designed for low-wind sites and is set to enter serial production early this year after the prototype was installed in November 2013.
