Repower wins 57MW in UK orders

UK: Repower has won four separate turbine orders in the UK from customers including Vattenfall, amounting to approximately 57MW.

It will supply turbines for new wind farms at Clashindarroch in Aberdeenshire, Eye Airfield in Suffolk, Hampole in Yorkshire and Westnewton in Cumbria, the company's owner, India-based Suzlon Group, said in a statement.

The largest order is for Vattenfall's Clashindarroch, where construction has already started, and which will feature 18 of Repower's MM82 2MW turbine. The project is expected to be completed by March 2015.

Eye Airfield, developed by Ventus funds and managed by Temporis Capital, will consist of two turbines with a total capacity of 6.8MW, while Good Energy's Hampole will be made up of four 2MW turbines.

The Westnewton Wind Farm, developed by Broadview Energy, will consist of three turbines with a total capacity of 6.15MW.

Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in March 2014.
