E.on nearing completion on Humber Gateway milestones

UK: E.on is set to complete two onshore underground cables and construction of the onshore substation for its 219MW Humber Gateway wind farm.

The project is located 8 kiometres off the East Yorkshire coast in the North Sea. Two marine cables will connect the wind farm to a cable landfall site, just south of Easington.

Work has also begun on the export cable route, which is due to be installed in October. The first six monopiles and transition pieces at Humber Gateway have also been installed.

The first phase of foundations installation, involving 28 foundations, commenced in August. A second phase is scheduled for summer 2014. The MPI Discovery is being deployed at the project site east of the Humber estuary. E.on's 219MW project is due for completion in 2015.

In May, E.on contracted Gardline to undertake construction phase environmental surveys at Humber Gateway. It is due for completion in 2015.
