Vestas lands 100MW China order

China: Ningxia-based Hanas New Energy has made two orders totalling100MW from Vestas for north west China.

The order is for 50 low-wind V100 2.0MW turbines

The V100-2.0MW turbines, which have a large rotor diameter and are designed for low wind sites, will be installed in the Yanchi wind farm in the autonomous region of Ningxia in north western China.

In August, Hanas ordered 50MW from Vestas, and, with the latest orders, Hanas' total number of Vestas turbines now amounts to 350MW.

The orders comprise turbine supply and deliver and a standard two-year service agreement, but do not include towers. Delivery is expected to start in the second quarter of 2014.

By 2015, Hanas New Energy intends to build up the total wind capacity in Ningxia to 1GW.
