The N117/3300 has been certified for medium wind speeds (IEC 2) with tower heights of 91 metres and 120 metres. A third variant, mounted on a 141-metre hybrid tower, has been certified for low-wind (IEC 3) locations.

The N100/3300 strong-wind turbine has been certified with hub heights of 75 metres and 100 metres.

Nordex expects to have all five versions installed and grid-connected by the end of the year. An N100 with a 75-metre hub height has already been installed at a strong wind testing site in Demark.

Series production is due to start early next year. First contract under commission is the Maevaara wind project in northern Sweden, which will generate electricity through 24 cold-climate N117 turbines.
