Bard Offshore 1 is located around 100 kilometres from the coast in the North Sea. Bard supplied and installed the 5MW turbines for the project company Ocean Breeze Energy, in turn owned by Unicredit bank.
Sixty five of the turbines are feeding electricity into the network, the remaining 15 will be commissioned in September 2013, Bard said. This year 40 turbines were installed in the first 7 months, using four installation ships, a hotel ship and more than a dozen supporting vessels.
