5.6GW of offshore capacity for China's Hebei province

Approval has been granted by China's National Energy Bureau for a series of offshore wind farms to be built in waters off the northern Chinese province of Hebei

Combined, they will have a capacity of up to 5.6GW.

Most of the capacity will be built off Tangshan city, with 4.3GW earmarked for this area. Priority is being given to a 300MW project near Puti Island in Leting county. It is hoped that construction will commence next year.

A further 1.3GW is earmarked for waters off Cangzhou city.
