The four wind farms — with a total installed capacity of 72MW — will be built in the Aisne, Pas-de-Calais and Nord departments and owned by a 50/50 joint venture between the companies.
EDF EN, the renewable arm of the French utility, will provide asset management post-commissioning in 2014 and will oversee maintenance.
The joint venture announcement follows a deal signed in January when Mitsubishi bought a 50% stake in a 55MW EDF EN solar project in France.
"This deal represents an opportunity for EDF EN to bolster its wind energy portfolio and strengthen its position in France. It will also expand the partnership with Mitsubishi in renewable energies generation," said EDF EN executive vice president of strategy Emmanuel Jaclot.
