EGP currently has two operational wind projects in Oaxaca totalling 144MW: the 74MW Bii Nee Stipa II wind farm and the 70MW Bii Nee Stipa III. Both projects use Gamesa G80 2MW turbines.
Both projects are located in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the La Ventosa region of Oaxaca, Mexico. The isthmus represents the narrowest piece of land separating the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean and has outstanding wind conditions.
In addition to these two operational projects, EGP late last year won a public tender to develop another 102MW wind project in the Isthmus.
