Vestas wins 309MW O&M deal

UNITED STATES: Vestas has been awarded a four-year extension on its service contract with utility We Energies for three wind farms in Winsconsin.

The three sites, the first of which started operating in 1999, feature 180 Vestas turbines with a total capacity of 309MW.

Vestas will provide its active output management (AOM) 4000 maintenance facility, which guarantees turbine availability, and a surveillance system that remotely controls and monitors the units to predict maintenance requirements.

"The service and maintenance Vestas will provide for the largest wind farms in Winsconsin is critical to the reliable production of renewable energy for our customers," said Allen Leverett, We Energies executive vice president.
