Nordex wins 50MW Pakistan deal

PAKISTAN: Nordex has received a 50MW order from Fauji Foundation for a project in the province of Sindh.

The project will use Nordex's N100 turbine

The order is for 20 N100/2500 turbines to go to the FWEL II project, which will come online next year. It includes a five-year service agreement.

Nordex will build the project together with Pakistani engineering company Descon.

The Fauji Foundation is a charitable trust set up for ex-servicemen and their dependents and of of Pakistan's major conglomerates. Other investors in the wind farm include privat equity fund manager Cap Asia and tea company Tapal Group.

In 2011, Nordex signed a 250MW master supply deal with Fauji Foundation, Gul Ahmed Energy, Metro Power Company and Yunus Energy covering projects in Sindh.
