Vestas wins 20MW deal in Italy

ITALY: Vestas has been handed a 19.8MW deal from Italian developer Fera for a project in Tuscany.

The order is for 11 of Vestas' V100 1.8MW turbines to go to the Santa Luce wind project. It includes a 15-year service agreement.

Commissioning is expected by the end of the year. The project is the first on Italian soil to use the V100.

Rainer Karan, General Manager, Vestas Italia, said: "This turbine has a very good fit to the Italian sites and respective wind conditions. Having been chosen by Santa Luce S.r.l. for the first V100-1.8 MW wind farm in Italy is a clear sign of the company’s trust in our proven and reliable 2 MW platform."
