E.ON to base O&M centre in Helgoland

GERMANY: E.ON has announced it is basing its offshore operations and maintenance centre for the 288MW Amrumbank West wind farm in the North Sea island of Helgoland.

E.ON said its plans for island include the expansion of the island's southern harbour to accomodate buildings, jetties and storage areas. It said 150 personel would be based there. 

Amrumbank West is located 35km north of Helgoland and will consist of 80 Siemens 3.6MW turbines. Construction is due to start next year with the aim of completing in 2015.
