Repower wins 332MW Gode Wind deal

GERMANY: Repower has won the deal to supply 332MW of turbines to offshore project Gode Wind 1.

The Suzlon-owned turbine manufacturer will supply the project, based in the German North Sea, with 54 offshore turbines rated at 6MW each.

Gode Wind 1 is owned by developer PNE Wind, which also owns the neighbouring 252MW Gode Wind 2.

Vestas signed a deal to supply Gode Wind II with 84 of its V112 3MW turbines in February 2011, and had been expected to secure the deal for Gode Wind I as well.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Andreas Nauen, CEO of Repower, stated: "We are delighted that PNE, one of the most successful German developers, is placing its trust in our 6M. PNE is also one of the first developers in Germany to switch to multi-megawatt turbines with an output in excess of 5MW."
