MidAmerican picks enXco for 465MW O&M deal

UNITED STATES: Berkshire Hathaway company MidAmerican Energy has handed enXco a 456MW Operations and Maintenance contract for six projects.

The projects, which are handled by MidAmerican subsidiary PacfifiCorp, use GE wind turbines.

They are:

  • 100.5MW Leaning Juniper I
  • 99MW Glenrock
  • 39MW Glenrock III
  • 99MW Rolling Hills
  • 99MW Seven Mile Hill
  • 19.5MW Seven Mile Hill II

All of the projects are located in Wyoming, apart from Leaning Juniper I which is in Oregon.

MidAmerican has a record of doing its own post-warranty maintenance.

Enxco claims total O&M contracts of around 4.8GW in the US. GE, whose turbines are on the projects, tends to outsource all of its preventative warranty work.
