The €300 million deal raises Windreich’s total orders from Areva Wind to 202 turbines and 1.1GW capacity, making it by far the most significant of the French firm’s customers.
It now has turbine supplies for the permitted 400MW North Sea offshore station projects Global Tech 1 and MEG 1.
They are set to be commissioned in 2013 and 2014 respectively, and Deutsche Bucht with 210MW scheduled for full commissioning at the end of 2014.
The turbine deal for Global Tech 1, announced last February, includes 5 years’ service and maintenance and was valued at over €700 million, or €8.75 million per turbine.
The MEG 1 contract reported in March 2011 included 14 years’ full service and maintenance and was worth €850 million or €10.63 million per turbine.
The Deutsche Bucht deal, for which no service and maintenance element is mentioned, is worth €7.14 million per turbine.
