Tauron, which is Poland’s second-largest power company, will take over the 30MW Zagórze wind farm as a part of an overall PLN 4.63 billion (€1.11 billion) transaction for Vattenfall’s Polish assets.
The price of the wind farm was not disclosed. The deal must be approved by the local anti-monopoly office before conclusion.
Last year, Vattenfall decided to withdraw from Polish market. The move was partially forced by issues in its home market with the company’s investment in Polish coal power plants.
As a result of the transaction, Tauron Polska Energia will acquire its first online wind farm. The company last month launched a tender for turbines for the 82MW Marszewo wind farm.
