Suzlon receives 85MW in Indian orders

INDIA: Suzlon has been handed 85MW in new deals for a number of projects across India.

Suzlon's S88 turbine is included in the 85MW orders
The orders include 14.7MW from GAIL India for a wind farm in Gujurat, western India. The project will use S88 2.1MW turbines.

Other customers include Khatu Narbheram, Oswal Group, KRBL and Varun Industries. Suzlon said 40% of the orders were from existing customers.

At the start of the month, the Suzlon Group announced a profit of $79 million for the three months to 30 June 2011, up from a loss of $152 million in the same period last year.
