Statkraft SCA is a joint venture between Norwegian utility Statkraft and Swedish FMCG multinational SCA. Statkraft is the majority shareholder with 60% ownership.
The first order of this agreement is for 37 SWT-2.3-113 turbines for the Morttjarnberget project in northern Sweden.
In May, SCA announced a deal with Fred Olsen Renewables (FOR) to develop a project in Västernorrland northern Sweden.
The two companies formed FORSCA AB, of which SCA will own 40% and FOR will own 60%. SCA will provide the land while FOR handles financing.
"SCA has major areas of land that are highly suitable for wind-power production," says Åke Westberg, head of SCA Energy.
"This project enables SCA to further strengthen its concentration on wind power, which is entirely in line with the Group's strategic focus on the increased production and consumption of renewable energy."
