Alerion’s San Marco wind farm, located northeast of Foggia, will use 13 of Repower’s M104 3.4MW turbines.
Construction is set to commence by the end of the year. The deal also includes a 12-year service agreement.
As of September 2010, Alerion had 146MW of operational Italian wind farms on its balance sheet.
Last year, Alerion announced plans to expand beyond Italy as it sets its sights on becoming a major pan-European player.
The company is looking at opportunities in both eastern and western Europe. It aims to boost annual electricity production to more than 2TWh.
