The 55MW Mumbida wind farm, in Western Australia, will use 22 2.5MW GE turbines. The project is being developed by state utility Verve Energy and Macquarie Capital.
The deal includes a 10-year maintenance agreement.
According to the Clean Energy Council (CEC) 167MW of installed capacity was added to Australia last year, against an increase of 400MW in 2009 and 800MW in 2008.
