Dong said it was in the early stages of submitting an application for consent. The company announced the initiative via an advertising campaign in the regional press, promoting the consultation days.
Dong has recently been ramping up its UK offshore activity. In March, it announced plans to set up a dedicated division to manage its renewable energy operations in the UK.
In February, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Belfast Harbour to build an offshore servicing and manufacturing hub at the site. The deal was dependent on Dong securing the financing for a number of Irish Sea projects.
