Serbia currently has no wind farms in operation, although some initiatives have already passed the feasibility study stage. These include two projects in Pancevo (both plants totaling 170 MW) and in Doljevac (100 MW) in the north and south of the country respectively.
According to the SEWEA, Serbia has favorable conditions for the installation of large wind farms, especially in the northern and eastern part. However, the country still lacks the legislative instruments to support the growth of renewable energy.
Wind developers also face difficulties of a financial nature, as they have to fully bear the costs for the construction of the wind farms to the national grid.
