Gamesa is investing in the new subsidiary. The company will base its headquarters in London and build research and development (R&D), manufacturing, and operations and maintenance (O&M) facilities around the country.
As part of this, Gamesa said it is considering Harwich, Humber and Tyneside "among other locations" for the turbine manufacturing plant. It is due to make a final decision by June.
Last month, Gamesa unveiled proposals for a in Glasgow, Scotland.
It is also looking at building a separate manufacturing facility in Dundee, Scotland. This would also handle logistics and O&M.
However, a Gamesa spokeswoman said the Dundee plant is subject to the development of offshore wind projects in the area and the availability of sites for prototypes.
Scottish North Sea projects in the pipeline include the 3.5GW Forth of Firth, 700MW Bell Rock and 905MW Inch Cape.
The search a UK manufacturing plant comes as Gamesa threatens to close plants in its Spanish home market.
Earlier this week, Gamesa CEO Jorge Calvet threatened to close more factories in Spain because of the central government’s "lack of stable and clear regulation".
Gamesa closed its Alsasua blade factory in Navarra last year. After failing in its bid for part of a 2.3GW tender in Galicia, it is closing one facility and studying a further five cases in that region.
