Siemens to install grid link for DanTysk offshore wind farm

GERMANY: Siemens will install a grid connection in the North Sea for the 864MW SylWin offshore wind farm cluster for the Dutch-German transmission grid operator TenneT.

The DanTysk project will use Siemens SWT-3.6 120 turbines

The first project to be connected will be , 70km west of the island of Sylt in Northern Germany.

The wind farm is co-owned by Vattenfall and Stadtwerke Munchen and will use 80 Siemens SWT-3.6 120 turbines. Installation is scheduled to begin in 2012 with commissioning set for 2013-2014.

Siemens will work in a consortium with Italian cable manufacturer Prysmian Powerlink to connect the project.
