The company has brought in Bechtel, Cavallo Great Lakes Ohio Wind and Great Lakes Wind Energy to handle the project. The three companies have formed Great Lakes Ohio Wind (Glow) to own and develop the project.
The initial project will be a five-turbine, 20MW pilot wind farm five to ten miles offshore of Cleveland. Construction on the initial phase is scheduled to commence in late 2012.
Eventually the aim is to generate 1GW of electricity from the project.
