BC Hydro issued a call for clean power bids

The final bid prices from the six projects ranged from C$99 to C$143.9 (US$92-134) per megawatt hour.

Final bid prices for the 20 hydro projects came in at C$95-156/MWh (US$88-145/MWh).

The average bid price for firm energy from hydro was C$139.9/MWh ($130/MWh).

In making its awards, BC Hydro used a levelised price that placed all projects on an equal footing by adjusting for varying escalation factors and a common delivery point.

The average levelised price is C$124.3/MWh ($116/MWh). The six wind farms, with a combined capacity of 542MW, will together supply 1,528GWh of firm energy a year.
