Nordex receives 68MW in orders from China and Portugal

CHINA: Nordex has been handed a 45MW order from Chinese utility Ningixia Electric for a wind project in Ningxia province, northern China.

The S77 1.5MW will be used on the Ningxia project

The company will be supplying 30 S77/1.5MW turbines, which will be connected to the grid near the city of Wuzhong.

The order represents the third and fourth phases of the ‘Sunhill’ project, which is expected to reach around 200MW capacity.

Ningxia Electric Power Group has a controlling stake in Nordex (Yinchuan) Wind Equipment. The company says the S77/1.5 MW turbine is suitable for use onshore in areas such as Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang.

Separately, Nordex has received a 23MW order from Infusion, the energy division of Grupo Meneses, for a wind farm to be constructed in the north of Portugal.

The S. Macario wind farm, located in the Serra de Montemuro, will use 10 N90/ 2.3MW turbines.
