Jupiter will be locating the plant in Junction City where it will employ 120 and open on August 1. Jupiter said it chose Kansas because of its proximity to the ‘North-West wind corridor'.
Last year Kansas passed a $5million incentive for renewables developers. Jupiter said this also played a role in the decision.
Speaking about the deal Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson said "This is another great day for Kansas' wind energy industry.
"We're proud to welcome an international company like the Jupiter Group to Kansas. Our outstanding business climate, and geographical advantage in the Wind Corridor, has once again paid off. With a continued focus and commitment to this industry, Kansas will become a major hub for wind farms and turbine factories, bringing green jobs to Kansas and clean energy to America."
