The wind farm, being developed by North British “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, consists of 20 2.5MW turbines. Total capacity will be around 50MW. The promoters say the project will be capable of offsetting 110,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide and will generate enough electricity to power 28% of all the households in the Highland Council area.
Wind Wire: Scotland - Key project wins construction permit
A key wind project that has the potential to power more than a quarter of homes in the Scottish Highlands has gained construction planning permission. Highland Council, the local authority for Scotland's windswept Highlands, gave the go-ahead last month for the project on the Corriegarth Estate on the edge of the Monadhliath Mountains.
