Wind Wire: France - Offshore industry to get research centre

Brest, a major port on the Brittany peninsula, has been chosen by the French government as the location for a national centre for marine energy, including offshore wind power.

The centre will administer public and private-sector projects focusing on technologies that are not yet commercially mature, with the long-term goal of creating an industrial cluster in France. It will come under the responsibility of the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea.
