The project will use 2MW machines from Danish manufacturer Vestas and is located approximately 20 kilometres southeast of the town of Termoli, near Italy's south-east coast.

The Ururi wind farm will produce roughly 55GWh of electricity annually and should be commissioned by the end of 2010. RWE Innogy Italia will be responsible for 51% of the total investment, with the Italian developer Fri-el Green Power taking on the remainder. Financial details of the project have not been released.

Ururi is the second wind farm RWE Innogy and Fri-el Green Power have developed together since unveiling an Italian wind and biomass joint venture in 2008. The partners are also currently erecting Vestas 850kW turbines for a 24.65MW wind farm on the island of Sardinia.
