Wind wire: Suzlon to supply

Turkish utility Ayen Enerji has signed a second turbine supply contract with India's Suzlon, this time for 27 S88 2.1 MW machines.

They are earmarked for two projects located near Izmir: 31 MW at Mordogan in Karaburan district and 24 MW at Korkmaz in Seferihisar district. Construction is expected to start late next year for commissioning in 2011. Suzlon supplied the wind turbines for Ayen's first and, so far, only operating wind farm, a 32 MW installation near Didim (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, February 2009). The utility has applications pending for a further three wind power projects, totalling 162 MW, in Mugla and Balikesir provinces.
