The analysis, titled 2009 Reference Case Scenario: Canadian Energy Demand and Supply to 2020, projects total wind power capacity will grow to 16,400 MW during the study period. Quebec, with a projected 5885 MW, and Ontario, with 3280 MW, are expected to lead the country in installed wind. The NEB expects natural gas and nuclear generation, along with other renewables technologies, to increase over the next decade. Total coal-fired generation capacity will decrease by 46.3%, or 7560 MW. By 2020, its share of total generation will be only 5.7%.
