Kirloskar Electric's wind turbines are included on the recently revised list of Type Approved Wind Turbines issued by the Ministry for Non Conventional Energy Sources. Kirloskar's Savita Baliga also reports that the company's 400 kW design, built in technical collaboration with Britain's Wind Energy Group (WEG), has met the design, safety and performance requirements of Germanischer Lloyd's wind turbine accreditation. Based in Bangalore, Kirloskar has already installed Kirloskar Electric-WEG turbines in Tamil Nadu and is to erect more machines in its home state of Karnataka, states Baliga.
