Two wind turbines were installed in Buena Vista, Colorado in conjunction with a Solar Energy International (SEI) course in late October. Wind is proving to be economical in large regions of the West, according to SEI officials. SEI is also installing a photovoltaic stand-alone system at the home of Amory Lovins of the Rocky Mountain Institute, known for his advocacy of renewables, so he can disconnect his house from the utility's grid.
