Joint renewable project starts with wind

Forth Ports PLC and Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) have entered into a joint venture agreement to develop 150 MW of renewable projects on land owned by Forth Ports around Scotland and England. The joint venture company, Forth Energy, is looking at onshore wind, offshore wind and biomass. Its first project comprises four wind turbines totalling 8 MW to be erected at the port of Tilbury, on the River Thames east of London, where construction is to begin shortly.
