UK Offshore - Local Impact - Local regeneration gets a spark
One region already benefiting from the UK's offshore wind boom is East Anglia, which includes the English coastal counties of Suffolk and Norfolk. According to the local development agency, Renewables East, offshore wind opportunities off the east coast of England represent around 拢9 billion worth of potential investment. Of this, 拢1 billion should be captured in the East of England economy directly, it says, bearing in mind that 12-16% of the 拢80 million invested in the Scroby Sands offshore wind farm, now operating, was captured in the region.
