The measures revealed at the utility's "information day" for independent producers in its distribution region include a grid expansion program, the abolition of reactive power charges for wind plant, and "attractive" contracts for independent wind power suppliers. With the abolition of reactive power charges alone meaning an annual saving of several thousand guilders (depending on turbine model), these measures will guarantee the profitability of wind turbine operation throughout NUON's distribution area, the company claims.
