Canadian Tacke turbines chosen for Wisconsin

Tacke wind turbines have apparently been chosen for installation in Wisconsin in the upper Midwest by Wisconsin Public Service and other utilities. The choice of Tacke “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, the Canadian affiliate of German Tacke Windtechnik, remained unconfirmed in late September, pending signing of the contract. Two Kenetech KVS-45 prototypes were to have been installed in a contract, which had foundered because of Kenetech's bankruptcy. Kenetech had tried to renegotiate the agreement and substitute used parts for the new prototypes (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, May 1996.) The project is partly under the auspices of the US Electric Power Research Institute.
