Canada's Boralex will triple its installed wind capacity in France on completion of two recently announced projects in the mountainous Massif Central area of south-central France. Four wind stations totalling 39 MW are under construction at Ally-Mercoeur, in the Haute-Loire department, and two stations totalling 18 MW are being built on the Cham de Cham Longe plateau in the Ardèche. GE Energy, which will supply the 38, 1.5 MW turbines, has been retained as project leader, with French industrial and technological services group Cegelec as the general contractor. Boralex bought the projects from French developer Sofiva Energie. It then sold a 5% share to a local investment company, Perfect Wind. Commissioning is due in December.
