Winkra's 1998 progress

Winkra-Project of Hannover installed two wind stations during the first quarter of 1998 and was due to begin on a third last month. The accumulated generating capacity being installed by Winkra in the first months of the year is 16 MW. Five Enercon 500 kW E40 turbines were erected at a site near Stendal in Saxony Anhalt. The machines, owned and operated by Winkra, will start feeding power into the grid of the regional utility Energie-Versorgung Magdeburg in May, according to Ingo Kanira of Winkra. The second project consists of 14, E40 machines, due to begin delivering power to utility Schleswag of Rendsburg in June. Four of the turbines will be owned and operated by Winkra, while two local farmers own the other units. The third project of 13, E40 units at a site near Hannover will be owned and operated by Winkra. The power will be fed into the grid of regional utility Hastra.
